It Begins! Well for me. You? - DFW Nanoers

elfiedawnNov. 1st, 2008 03:40 am It Begins! Well for me. You?

There was some panic around midnight when I realized that without a character name it felt simply wrong to begin writing. Not to mention I wasn't sure where to start, but the name problem bugged me. The old one had felt wrong. Some good brainstorming on my way to work Friday afternoon hammered my plot into somewhat more working order. It's much more intricate now. But we'll see if the characters like the plot or not. Sometimes they like to make their own little changes and mess everything up... But I shouldn't be talking about them where they can hear me... Shhh! Don't tell them!

So, after a friendly linkage from Ais to nymbler.com, I managed to find names I liked to use as a base. My Protagonist: Riona Aubrey Hayden. 26 years old. At the age of eight she watched someone translate with a little flash of light and suddenly vanish. Any other eight year old would think magic. Riona did not. The best friend: Cadence Autumn Russel (I couldn't resist... heh.) Probably 26 as well, seeing as they graduated from the same class. Then we have James Neil Keegan who is vastly senior to them... except that he is currently dead. Unless you're not in their current currently. ;)

Riona doesn't know James. She just remembers his face and then the flash of light before he vanished. Something tells her to dig deeper, and the answers she finds just bring about more questions... And the only person holding the key is a dead man. Luckily Riona can travel through time. :)

So that's what I have so far. Sound interesting? Blah? Ok? Anyway, I have to get to bed... Otherwise I'm going to oversleep and miss the writing brunch tomorrow!

I still think it is hilarious that your mc's last name is my maiden name :P

Good start!
